Dating back as early as the Kofun era (300 - 600A.D.) archeologists discovered crystal accessories in the Sone Hills area of Yamanashi.Today, almost 1700 years later Yamanashi prefecture is still known for its quartz expertise.
In 1946 Koike Co. was founded based on the premise and realization that this traditional quartz/crystal polishing technology could be utilized for radio communications and its future growth potential. So it began with Koike Co. producing quartz blanks for oscillators for this growing communications market.
As the electronics industry grew with the advancement of technology, Koike Co. saw the industry transform from a primarily electro-mechanically oriented industry to a more sophisticated digital based information technology (IT) industry. Through the years, Koike Co. developed the expertise to become a world class manufacturer of wafers with reference to single-crystalline Quartz and Lithium Tantalate materials.
This evolution in technology coupled with the fast development of the IT industry has increased the complexity of the electronics devices demanded by our customers. Being true to our mission statement, "Quality always comes first, deliver products that exceed our customers satisfaction", we have invested heavily in R&D, facilities, capital equipment and our employees. The result is a highly trained, skilled work force that is capable of improving the high quality and reliability standards of our products.
Looking to the future, we will continue to pursue technological innovations to keep pace with the IT evolution, remain environmentally sensitive and conscious of the well being of our global society.
